Rebis is a pool of people, men and women, wanting to reflect about how a feminine spirituality could make the overall level of consciousness higher, so as our civil life.

The group comes out from the idea of Patrizia Scanu, a teacher, psychologist, and blogger for the online and printed journal “Popular Souvereignity” (Sovranità popolare) after a serie of conferences and analysis about the psychological and spiritual consequences caused by the neoliberal ideology.

This undertaking immediately found support by a group of friends all sharing together, since a long time, their commitment to personal growth and ongoing self-education. It turned into a choral contribution, from the very beginning. We are convinced that there will not be any political change until people will not reach a deep awareness of their spiritual nature, being this considered in the highest and mostly non religious sense. So, speaking of spiritual essence, which is in itself neither masculine nor feminine, we say that a fundamental part, the feminine one, has been for a long time stifled. We think that this lost balance has to be restored to rebuild the whole integrity of the human being. For this reason, with the essential contribution of Fiorella Rustici, an outstanding researcher on spirituality, and of her basic work on “mental mechanics”, Rebis requires its members to train first their own consciousness and then, in their everyday life, to make possible, in our social and political life, those principles of Ethics, Love, Responsibility, Justice, Joy and Bliss. The very first public training event, held by Fiorella Rustici and Patrizia Scanu, took place in Trevi, central Italy, during the summer week organized by Aleph Umanistica, under the direction of Mauro Scardovelli, in July 2019. This happening occurred under the title “The awakening of the Feminine: from animal mind to spiritual consciousness”. We all are very keen to working together. We are asking ourselves how just economics, politics, work, family, school, environment, nourishment, culture and every other field of the associated life could change, if the qualities of the spiritual Feminine would find their room.

Indeed, we already are counting a number of members; among them people like Zvetan Lilov, Alberto Allas Bermejo, Simona Valesi, Alida Sacchi, Daniele Dragà, Erika Barani, Iolanda Della Monica, Paolo Genta, Diego Coscia, Massimo Angotti, Anna Brescianini, Giuliana Roda… Yet new ones are coming in. Thanks to everyone who will be wanting to share and join our aims. We are aware to be part of a civil community. We would like to see it growing bigger and bringing new signs of awareness and transformation.

Our Mission

The “Rebis” (from the Latin Res bina, that is “double thing”) is the alchemical symbol for the harmony of opposites.

In this page, and in the associated groups as well, is given room to a reflection upon the deep global crisis spreading all throughout the world: a world generated by decades of neoliberalist ideology. We seek for the causes of this into the centuries-old unbalance between Masculine and Feminine, which has triggered a breakup in the integrity of the human individual, made of body, mind and spirit, and which has strongly weakened its spiritual part.

Our working group, strictly non-religious and dialogic, is aiming to give birth to a widespread opinion movement. This wants to inspire a collective awareness of the feminine values and qualities, that have been put down and reduced to silence during centuries of repression, mostly of religious nature.

The Feminine has here to be understood in its energetic sense, that is as that inner Feminine which lays inside both women and men. Without restoring this balance between the two energies, spiritual Masculine and Feminine, this world is lost.

Only by recovering the integrity of our essence can we be confident to building up a more progressive world, overcoming the shortnesses of the current political context and the sorrowful tears of a society grounded on competition and possession.

Our working team hasn’t anything to do with the feminist movement; nor is it committed to creating a sort of “reservation” just only for women. Here women and men absolutely play an equal role. Rebis should be the place for those men having made peace with the Feminine and the place for those women who, enhancing their Feminine, have made peace with the Masculine. All of them, men and women, with full regard to the undeniable differencies, can only gain from the complete development of their own spiritual consciusness.

Goal of the working team is submitting alternative models for personal behaviour, interpersonal relation managing, civil and political conduct: all these aspects should help people escaping from isolation and avoiding the neoliberalist competition, for giving shape to better and higher evolved society.
It is not just a matter of talking, but also and mainly of making action and learning. We shall set up events, courses, seminars and meeting moments. We shall foster political and civil initiatives: by “political” we want to mean all what has to do with the greek term “polis”, that is the life of a community of citizens. We shall make available training and information. Only if there will be an evolution of the awareness of the whole human potential, a real vision of the future can sprout out. This vision would be founded on those truly spiritual values inspired by the Italian Constitution of 1948.

We look back at those values like substantial equality, solidarity, participation, cooperation, beauty, responsibility, justice: all of them have been betrayed by decades of policies submitted to the interests of the few and subjected to the markets dogma. Our commitment will give substance to our reflections.
Spiritual and political dimensions are for us interlaced, although Rebis is neither a political movement nor a group lead by any sort of religious ispiration. Men and women who are highly keen to undertake this personal and collective path towards a transformation of their cosciousness can take part. They will have to share this background vision and will be available to contribute with their ideas and actions to the team work.
